Being a born-again Christian begins with placing your faith in Jesus Christ.
Being born-again means recognizing that you are a sinner in need of God's forgiveness, believing that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and surrendering your life to him as Lord and Savior.
When you put your trust in Jesus, God forgives your sins, gives you new spiritual life, and welcomes you into his family. This is what Jesus called being "born again" (John 3:3). It's the beginning of a lifelong journey of following Christ, growing in faith, and learning to live according to his Word.
When you receive Jesus, you will have peace with God, the assurance of eternal life after this life on earth, and the hope that comes from knowing him personally. No one is beyond his saving grace, and his invitation is open to all who will come to him as they are.
If you are ready to take that step, say this simple prayer now:
"Jesus, I believe you’re the Son of God who came to die for my sins and to give me the gift of eternal life with you. I repent from my sins past and present, and I invite you into my heart today to be my Lord and Saviour now and forever."
That's all you need to say to become a new person in Christ. Behold, old things have passed away, and all things have become new!
Now, here are quick next steps for you:
- Get yourself a Bible and start learning more about your new faith. I recommend the NLT or CSB translation for new believers.
- Start reading from Matthew and work your way through the entire New Testament. Take your time—there's no rush!
- Find a Bible-believing church near you where you can fellowship and grow alongside other believers.
- Download and read this Welcome kit, courtesy of Kenneth Copeland Ministries, and begin your new life in Christ.
Contact me (Yvonne) if you have any questions about your new faith, and I'll be happy to help answer them and walk through them with you.
Welcome to the family!
